APDRA has implemented the Peasant fish farming support project (PADPP) over a period of 11 years through three successive phases, with the specific objective of ensuring that many producers develop (rice-) fish farming into a profitable and sustainable activity. The achievement of this objective should contribute to the following overall impacts• Securing and increasing the income of producers who develop this activity • Enrichment of the animal protein diet of the rural population of these regions• A more diversified, intensive and sustainable development of irrigated and lowland areas. The objective of the study is to assess the effects and impacts of APDRA’s intervention in Madagascar within the framework of the PADPP project, at the economic, social and environmental levels, and its impact on development at the organization’s internal and external levels. This study covers all 3 phases of the project’s implementation (2010-2021) as well as the two fish farming models promoted (rice-fish farming and dam ponds) in 3 different regions (Itasy, Atsinanana,Vakinankarata).
